Overview
Honorio Bicalho has plenty of trails to choose from, with easy ones like
27 Voltas Trail to hard ones like
Computronics Trail. All the trails can be accessed from the town square in Honorio Bicalho where there are restaurants, bars, and many options for a variety of shorter or longer runs. This loop is one of the longer and more difficult options with woods, many waterfalls, great viewpoints, and the famous C do Gato uphill!
Description
This run begins at Honorio Bicalho. From the town square, you'll run start on the
Computronics Trail which heads into the woods. This is a challenging uphill, and it is a multi-use trail that tends to be more popular in the downhill direction, so use caution and be aware of other runners and bikers who may be descending the trail.
From the end of the
Computronics Trail, turn left onto the
Cachoeira da Mingu Road. You'll climb this easy dirt road up to the start of the
Holocausto Trail. This short downhill is a lot of fun if you are up for the challenge! Use caution if there has been a recent rain, as the trail can be very slippery with loose stones. This can make it very dangerous, but also very exciting to descend as you may have the feeling that you could wipeout at any time.
From the
Holocausto Trail, you'll connect to the
27 Voltas Trail, and you'll want to turn right for the short out-and-back side trip to an unnamed but beautiful waterfall. After taking in the scenery, continue descending on
27 Voltas Trail. Use caution as the trail is narrow and htere is a ravine on one side where the stream is channeled into a waterfall that carries water to supply the city. There are not much room for error, and one should be careful to stay on the trail which is quite narrow along this stretch.
After this narrow stretch of trail, you'll run on the wider and easier
27 Voltas Connector Road. This road is an easy downhill that will connect you back to the town square.
