“This section connects the OT: Courtois Section to the north with the OT: Taum Sauk Section and the Middlefork. Section.”— Ozark Trail Association
To the north, it connects with the Ozark Trail: Courtois Section, to the south the Ozark Trail: Taum Sauk Section, and in between is the Ozark Trail: Middlefork / John Roth Memorial Section. The Trace Creek section is open to foot, bike and equestrian traffic.
A spur trail can be found near the section's midpoint that leads to the 12-mile Lake Shore Trail (Council Bluff Trail).
