“The western end of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and a beautiful tour of the park's geology.”

Description
This short loop marks the western end of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Besides being a welcome sight for weary thru-hikers, it provides a beautiful overlook of the St. Croix River from atop the bluffs. Keep an eye out for interesting potholes formed by glacial runoff. The Dalles of the St. Croix River, an L-shaped gorge cut through the river visible from the trail, also gave rise to a rock formation on which the trail was built: the Old Man of the Dalles.
This trail can be accessed via the Horizon Rock Trail or from a parking lot by the trailhead.
