This trail is part of the South Trail System along with the Woodland Trail and the Overlook Trail. Combined with the North Trail System, these trails make up the Horse/Bike trail system in the park. Take caution when approaching horses—always announce your presence and stop while the horse passes you.

This particular trail in the South Trail System features grasslands and mixed meadows as it makes a pleasant loop around a field.
