Generally accessible from June to October. Trailhead parking can be crowded, and thievery is often reported at this trailhead.
Trail is in good condition for running, though some sections have loose gravel and large rocks. Its popularity may make this a choice off-season run. Watch out for horse and cow droppings.
The access trail for Trail Gulch Lake is a well-maintained and popular horse and runner trail in the Northeast Trinity Alps. Sections of the trail are singletrack dirt and gravel as well as a former dirt road. The lake has camping, and is deep enough for swimming. This trail is often combined with Long Gulch Lake in a large loop.
NOTE: Trail Gulch Lake and Long Gulch Lake are switched on most maps.
