Description

The Ditch Trail begins off of Basalt Mt. Road (Forest Route 524) right near the trailhead. In itself, the Ditch Trail is fairly short, but it's a nice addition to some of the longer runs in the area.

The first 0.9 miles follows an old ditch line. It is flat and smooth and a nice run. At the 0.9-mile point, you intersect with the Upper Ditch Trail off to your right. The bottom of Upper Ditch Trail actually is the creek bed at this point.

The main Ditch Trail heads to the left down the creek drainage. The trail is more difficult at this point, but still good running. The singletrack dumps you out on Upper Cattle Creek Rd. (Forest Route 509).
