Runner Notes

Should be a great run!

Description

This is the popular West Tiger #3 trail that connects to/from the Cable Line Trail to the trailhead. This broad, well maintained trail offers a more gentle path of ascent/descent, particularly after climbing up the Cable Line Trail.

The trail surface is wide (mostly doubletrack) and well maintained. Run through tall regrowth trees with a thick undergrowth of green ferns. West Tiger is a great training location due to its proximity to Seattle and the potential for vertical gain (~2,000ft possible).

Flora & Fauna

Lots of ferns.

Lots of ferns adorn the trail under the tall tree canopy. You'll be nearly 100% in the shade.

Ran up this, and felt it was closer to a Blue, as I found it hard at times and the incline is more than 10%. Whooped my butt and loved it! TMT down. 9mi — 2h 36m
