From its start off of The Plagueround, this newly built (2017) trail descends on nice switchbacks to a bridge crossing. From there, the trail climbs at a mellow grade to the pop section of the lolli. From that intersection, you can go both ways.
The first push on this climb can be quite steep, but the going isn't too hard thanks to some very well-built switchbacks. However, the dirt here can be very loose, so watch your footing. Finally, after climbing for ~400ft, the trail tops out at 7,400ft and shows awesome views of
Courthouse Mountain, as well as the San Juans (like
Mt. Sneffels).
From the top, the trail descends back to the pop intersection you already (obviously) encountered. This section of trail is built mostly in a drainage, and has a few steep switchback turns that take you over roots.
