“A classic Appalachian ridge trail.”
— Mike May
A classic trail in Wythe County that's full of steep, short ridge line climbs and steep, rocky downhills. It can be done as a loop from the campground to the day use area, with a short road run back to the campground, or vice versa.
As mapped the trail starts at the campground and ascends, steeply in places, up the ridge. It traverses the ridgeline for a few miles before dropping back do the side of the ridge to the road.
