“Smooth, fast, and switchback laden.”
— Zain Mirza
This is a popular trail with mountain bikers, be alert as you run.
The trail branches off to the west as part of a four-way intersection near the ice rink trailhead. It begins with a switchback followed by a flat, rock-strewn section. Next, a bridge transfers the runner to the other side of a creek, marking the start of a gradual, rolling climb. The climb ends after a steep right-turn switchback.
After this, the trail traverses the side of a hill with a number of switchbacks. The trail ends with an eight-foot long section of rough rock. After that, a right turn followed by a creek crossing at the intersection will keep you in the park, while a left turn will take you to the Chestnut Grove neighborhood.
