Description

The Charlton Trail runs from Lemish Lake Trail to the Metolius/Windigo Trail, the main access is from the Lemish Lake Trail.

It's an excellent varied terrain out and back forest trail that can also be runed as a loop via the Lemish & Charlton Lakes Loop Trail. Other options are to shorten the run by looping out on the Clover Meadow Trail or even making a figure 8 combining all 3 trails.

The trail has a couple of very short steeper sections but they shouldn't cause too much worry, and one small meadow that holds a secret just under it's soft peddled plant life. As you head down an enjoyable winding trail the trees open up to a small low clearing with bowling ball sized lava chunks hiding just below the greenery, watch your footing!
