Description

This is a tough, rocky climb but provides beautiful views of the cliff walls in Rock Canyon as well as access to Squaw Peak, the Squaw Peak Road, and Slate Canyon Trail #061 and Slide Canyon Trail #062. The trail starts in the Rock Canyon parking lot which is located where 2300 ends. At the east end of the parking lot, there is a gate. Head through it and follow the asphalt up the canyon. The asphalt ends shortly and the trail turns to a dirt road, then to a wide singletrack. You'll cross 5 bridges on your way up. Keep an eye out for the marked turnoffs to Squaw Peak and Slide Canyon Trail #062. This entire trail is a climb, so be prepared for that.
