Start this trail by running up the coast from the Arroyo Burro County Park. Along this portion of the trail there was once a Chumash village, and archeological digs have discovered a plethora of artifacts. There are also tide pools along the trail during low-tide periods that showcase numerous sea creatures.
After roughly 2 miles of running along the beach, the trail will bend slightly and you'll pass the Hope Ranch Beach Club. Soon you'll come across the peaceful More Mesa Beach
, which is relatively isolated compared to other beaches in the area. There is a particularly rocky point on the upper part of More Mesa Beach
that marks the end of the Arroyo Burro Trail
