Parking at Cherry Canyon can be limited.

Runner Notes

There is not a lot of shade out on the trail. Plan accordingly! If you're looking for a little bit of a longer run, parking at the Frisbee Golf Course in Hahamonga and taking the Flint Canyon Trail to Cherry Canyon adds about 2.5 miles one-way with very little additional climbing.

The trail can be a little washed out at times, but is usually wide, smooth, and clear.

Description

The trailhead is at the 4-way intersection with Cherry Canyon Motorway. It starts out with a climb up to the top of the ridge in La Canada. From here, stay on the main fire road straight ahead or take any of the many side trails for a little exploring (watch out, the Owl Trail is steep!).

Following the main path south through some rolling hills along the crest of the "mountain" with some excellent views of downtown LA, Pasadena, and Eagle Rock. Avoid the small cut offs by keeping right, left, and then right again before popping out on Camino San Rafael for about 40 feet. Hop back on the trail and head down to the end of the trail in the "valley".
