Overview

Features: Fall Colors — Views — Wildflowers — Wildlife

Description

Flume runs parallel to St. Louis Creek across the way from Creekside Trail. It is a scenic singletrack trail that winds through the valley alongside the creek. It is named after an old logging flume that runs parallel to the trail. Heading downhill, it's a fairly mellow descent.

In the direction mapped, it starts out with nice alpine scenery, then narrows down to twisting singletrack through the woods. At the end, there is a nice bench at a viewpoint where you can look over the creek and valley with Byers Peak in the background. If you are lucky, you might even spot a moose in the marshland below.

This trail can be combined with Creekside Trail for a nice, easy loop or runners can connect to Chainsaw and Zoom for a larger loop of the area.

Flora & Fauna

Pine and aspens. Wildflowers in season. Possible to see moose along the marshy areas by the creek.
