Description

Going north to south, this trail follows the valley of Gans Creek and then takes a long switchback to climb up to one of the best bluff views in the park.

Flora & Fauna

Good forest birds, tanagers, vireos, Louisiana Waterthrush. Columbine growing on the bluffs.

The trails fork at Gans Creek. If you're doing the Shooting Star Loop, do not cross. Crossing here connects to the Wagonwheel Trailhead.

At the second creek crossing, the rocks can be slick! - Watch for a split in the trail across the creek.
