Most of this course follows beautiful, flowing singletrack trails. There are 14 footbridges with small waterfalls and creeks all along the route. The high point is the summit of Rabun Bald. With an elevation of 4,696 feet, it is the second highest point in Georgia. Climb the fire tower for a stunning 360° view of the North Georgia mountains and beyond.
From the starting point on the Bartram Trail, you'll enjoy a climb to Rabun Bald. At the top of the Rabun Bald summit, get ready for some fast downhill on the Rabun Bald Trail that descends 2,200 ft in 2.8 miles. Then travel through rhododendron tunnels on one of the gems of this course, the Holcomb Creek Trail. On this trail of just under a mile, runners will see a 120-foot waterfall and two, 80-foot waterfalls.
There is one aid station located at Three Forks about midway through the race.
