Getting forecast...

An old road that locals love to run, hike, 4-wheel, and hunt on, as well as just enjoying.

Kevin Rumsey

Overview

No walking or running during hunting season which is normally November 1 to mid-January.
Features: Birding — River/Creek — Wildlife
Dogs: Leashed

Runner Notes

Wildlife galore. Snakes, birds, turtles, deer, etc. There are four family cemeteries, one of which can be easily seen along the trail. One of the cemetery is believed to have Confederate soldiers buried there.

Description

Once upon a time this road (Highland Ave) connected "B" street in Butner to John Umstead. Now it is a hunting area, running trail, and farm area.

Flora & Fauna

Very little flora, but parts of the trail touch an area that has evergreens growing.
