This trail begins off the Post Oak Trail just prior to where it terminates at the small lake. You travel mostly through stands of savannah post oaks, which are seemingly rare to this area anymore. The trail is almost completely under the cover of the canopy and provides a nice respite on a hot summer day. You'll likely encounter some form of bird or wildlife as you travel down the trail as these county preserves are the last bit of undeveloped wilderness in Dallas County. Overall, it is a wonderful run that returns you to the parking area upon completion.

There is a variety of bird and wildlife throughout the area, especially around the small lake in the heart of the preserve. A wonderful area for bird watching and outdoor photography.
