Runner Notes

Come prepared for a remote run. To make a loop or an out-and-back on this trail will require running some pretty challenging trails to get here. Be sure to bring plenty of food and water.

Description

The trail starts from the end of Federal Pass at the rocky overlook of Ruined Castle. From here, the track is a rough and challenging run along the ridge of Mount Solitary and along Chinaman's Gully where you'll enjoy some remarkable views of the valley. Continuing through Jamison Valley, the trail has some challenging ups and downs with views to the south of the Wild Dog mountains and the Kanangra-Boyd Wilderness.

Flora & Fauna

Eucalyptus, coachwood, sassafrass, and lilly pilly. Lyre birds, sulphur-crested cockatoo, and bell birds. Maybe you'll spot a wallaby!
