Along this run, you'll enjoy some of the best overlooks of the north part of Zion Park.

Features Views

This trail has great Cedar Breaks type overlooks at several spots along the trail. You get great views down into the Virgin River Drainage and can see Zion Park in the distance.

This trail actually starts at the Strawberry Point Overlook and end at Wood's Ranch in Cedar Canyon. This trail is fantastic for running or biking. There are a few places where roads cross the trail for resupply or bail-out points. There is parking along Strawberry Point Road at the start of this trail. The best points to section this up or have vehicle support are at the Cascade Falls Trailhead, the Virgin River Rim Trailhead next to Te-Ah Campground at Navajo Lake, and where the trail crosses the Webster Flat Road. There is plenty of parking at Woods Ranch. Along the way, runners will enjoy great views of Zion and Navajo Lake. The trail has been fairly well maintained and is mostly easy to follow the whole way.

Due to the length of the route, it's recommended that runners enjoy this route as either an overnight trip (perhaps multiple nights depending on your pace) or as a shuttle. It would be quite difficult to run this trail out-and-back in a single day.

Partial: 9mi out and back. Beautiful as ever. Encountered a ton of sheep a couple miles East of Webster Flat. Had to go off trail to go around them. 18.4mi

Partial out and back beginning at Woods Ranch. Trail's in good condition until about mile 5 or 6 where there are some fallen trees, but still runable! 16.4mi — 3h 37m

How are conditions on the Virgin River Rim Trail in early November? Is it likely there will be snow on the trail? If so, how much? What are the average temperatures in early November along the trail? Thanks! Dec 1, 2017

Early November can be highly variable. If it is a big snow year it will be impassable to trail run. On an average year it will probably have some snow in the shade but be passable. Average highs are probably 40-60 lows are probably around 10-30. Dec 2, 2017
