Bonnie and Clyde's offers some beautiful scenery and stable narrow singletrack that is considerably smoother and easier than the Julieann Trail that runs below.

Description

The top of Bonnie and Clyde's begins at an unmarked intersection off of Sidewinder and descends away through a couple of switchbacks before cutting across a steep sidehill along a narrow bench. The descending soon comes to an end as Bonnie and Clyde's switches to a rolling climb. Look for a tight spot formed by a rock slab and tree if you're traveling with a dog. Most of the year there is a small seep at the base of the rock that will help keep Fido hydrated.

Continuing on, the running is easy and pleasant through the surrounding trees, salal, ferns, and occasional rock slab that create a particularly pretty scene in this section of the park.

Ahead, a number of trails intersect at a slight rise. To the left, marked by a caution sign, is the steep Fred's Trail and to the right is the West Loop and Julieann Trail. Just around the corner runners will encounter a rusted car that trailbuilders discovered along with an old safe further downhill. A little narrative license and this dilapidated scene became the inspiration for the name of the trail.

Bonnie and Clyde's continues to traverse along rolling terrain for another quarter mile before it turns to follow a small ridge to the south. Here the trail widens as it swoops and turns through the beautiful trees to wind down to intersect with the ends of the Ridge Trail and Julieann Trail just before reaching the mid-mountain parking area.
