This trail is marked from Y intersection at the end of Danielson Road (Old Boney Trail)
. The first 1/4 mile is easy and terminates in a memorial and old cabin ruins. After that, the trail turns to steep and difficult singletrack with large rocks and loose soil. This trail is often canopied by scrub brush, and features a path narrowed by water runoff. The entire trail terminates at the Boney Mountain Summit with spectacular views. From here, it's best to turn around and go down the same trail that you ascended the peak on, as the Western Ridge Trail
will make this one look like a cake walk.
