Runner Notes
This trail is on the property of South Mountain Christian Camp. Watch for occasional vehicles when crossing the roads.
Description
This section of trail begins in a young forest of maple, oak, and sweetgum trees. It weaves southward, heading slightly downhill then crosses a gravel road and enters a thick pine forest. Emerging from the pine, the trail crosses a paved road, follows an electrical power line path then turns left into a much older section of forest with huge oak trees. From there, the trail weaves up and down a slope before emerging at a grassy lake shore. You'll continue to follow the side of the lake for just a short ways before the trail ends near an outbuilding.
Flora & Fauna
Oak, maple, sweetgum, and pine trees will shade your way. Deer, groundhogs, turkey, and geese (at the lake) are all residents of the area.
