Runner Notes

This trail gets more tracked out and overgrazed later in the summer when the cows are allowed to graze freely up here, but can still be a fun and pretty trail.

Description

Access to this trail can be found at the parking area at the end of FR81, past Camp Lomia. For the first portion of this trail, runners will follow the Right Hand Fork Logan River Trail. After the trail leaves the Right Hand Fork Logan River Trail, it starts following an intermittent stream that runs strongly in the spring but often dries up by the summer after the snow melts. The trail slowly winds up, following the creek bed for a little bit over a mile, and the visible terrain slowly opens up to sprawling meadows and hills. The trail eventually heads up toward a saddle and meets up with the Little Cottonwood Trail, where you can get great views of surrounding areas, including parts of the northern Bear River Range.

This trail is great on its own as an out-and-back or it can be combined with the Little Cottonwood Trail to create an excellent loop.
