No water available along the trail, though there are bathrooms both at the visitor center and the Hornbek Homestead.

Description

Winding through high meadows, the trail runs from the park's visitor center to the historic Hornbek Homestead, crossing land once covered by ancient Lake Florissant. To the east of Teller County Road 1, the trail rises above the valley, offering views of the ancient lakebed and the mountain ranges beyond.

Flora & Fauna

Signs of elk, deer, coyote, and other wildlife are common along this trail.
