The Maitland Trail is a beautiful and challenging hiking trail the follows the Maitland River from Goderich Ontario on the shore of Lake Huron to the village of Auburn Ontario. Racers will travel between the two towns in a challenging route.
Runner Notes
There are many sections that are covered with roots and rocks. After it rains these areas become incredibly slippery and very challenging.
Description
This trail is mostly singletrack and offers a great challenge for runners from all ability levels. in October TheBad Thing Ultra-Trail Maitland race takes runners from Goderich On to Auburn.
The Maitland Trail is very well marked with white blazes on trees, rocks & sign posts.

Runners will enjoy climbing on this scenic course, especially as the trail weaves in and out of natural preserve and along the Maitland River.
