Description

This trail begins with the orange blaze seen near the last house found on the road. The entrance is gated to prevent motor vehicles, although they would not be able to navigate the trail due to its width and obstacles. It is recommend to follow the GPS closely to find the trailhead as the entrance can be overgrown and hidden at times. This is a beautiful run following a flowing river with multiple crossings. Be careful on the rocks; they can get slippery! Water shoes are not necessary, but it is nice to wade into the water during hot summer days. There is a small waterfall about two miles in with spots to swim at some times of the year.

Flora & Fauna

Typical Shenandoah forest. Black bears are local. Hummingbirds are residents at some times of the year.
