Runner Notes
Death by downfall.
Description
This old trail was of some use in the early days of the park, but is only on the system for record purposes. After the fire blew through this area, this seldom maintained trail has become all but unnavigable due to epic quantities of downfall.
The trail breaks off from the Old Flathead River RS trail just past a section that is frequently flooded. It's hard to even see that a trail takes off unless you have a keen eye and are looking for it. Initially, it's terrible travel through downfall, but it gets worse the further up you go.
After almost two miles of struggling, the trail does clear up a bit, but the official end of the trail leaves you somewhere on the side of a hill with no clear sign of where you would go.
