Description

The Brook Trail is a decent, high traffic, alternative trail up Mount Major. You can access this trail by traveling about 0.7 miles up the Mt. Major Trail. You'll reach this trail from the Mt. Major Trail after approximately a 0.2 mile flat section you'll head to the right and follow the yellow markers for the Brook Trail.

You'll continue along relatively easy terrain for the first half mile or so of this trail before it begins to get steeper and more rocky/rooty. At this point this trail has the potential to be very muddy. You can get around some of it but especially in the early spring it's not fun. You'll hit the steepest part of the trail right before you meet up with the Belknap Range Trail. Continue East along the Belknap Range Trail to the summit of Mount Major.
