Snow covers the trail until mid-summer causing extremely hazardous snow conditions in spring and early summer. Sliding down the snowfield above Emerald Lake is dangerous and not recommended.
The Timpanogos summit trail connects to both the Timpooneke Trail #053
and the Mount Timpanogos Trail #052
and climbs to the summit of Mount Timpanogos. Be aware of uneven terrain, steep cliffs, and exposed cliff bands along the trail.
The Summit Trail proceeds across a large rocky slope at an easy grade but then becomes steeper on the many switchbacks up to the summit house where spectacular views can be seen in every direction.
