The parking lot and road up to it are closed November 1 - April 15 for the winter.
Description
From the parking lot/trailhead, the trail starts ascending for a short period of time but then levels off as you start going through some meadows near the creek. Once in the meadow you start crossing the creek (which can be somewhat high in April and May, but starts to subside later in the summer) with intervals of meadow and forest in between. Early on in the season, when the snow is just starting to melt, waterfalls can be seen cascading off of the snowfields up above and down into the canyon.
The trail goes up even further, and you can run to a ridge where you can then drop into Tony Grove, if you feel up to it. If not, this is a beautiful, short trail providing just enough challenge to keep you on your toes. It's beautiful the whole way and well-worth the journey!
Flora & Fauna
There are plenty of wildflowers including glacier lilies in April-July and there are always birds, small critters, and elk and deer can be seen, but more rarely.
