“Combined with Low Gap and Rock Garden this loop makes for an amazing run.

State Resort Park regulations apply and this is also a state nature preserve. On weekends and holidays, the Rock Garden Trail
and the area around the arch can be congested with trail users.

Low traffic trail and remote. For the most part, this trail isn't overly technical, but conditions can vary.
Sand Gap is an incredible trail. When it's in good shape (deadfall all cut up) it is positively frictionless. It starts where the Sheltowee Trace exits the state park at the south end and follows a broad forested ridge and for a bit before splitting off and dropping below cliff line and contouring around for miles in dark hollows with glimpses of rock formations towering overhead.
Sand Gap is quiet and can be eerie at times as you are removed from the sounds of roads and civilization.
Lots of high country flora. Bears, snake, and deer are possible wildlife to see in this area.
