A section of this trail enters into Rocky Mountain National Park. The national park does not allow dogs on trails. DO NOT ENTER THIS SECTION OF TRAIL WITH A PET.

Description

From the Saint Vrain Mountain TH, the trail starts off on an old road and enters the Indian Peaks Wilderness. The trail cuts over and follows along a creek. A long switchback leads to the right (north). The trail cuts back to the left, crosses the valley, and continues across the south side before returning to the drainage.

After a few switchbacks, the Saint Vrain Mountain Trail comes out above tree line and passes to the south of Meadow Mountain. It pops briefly into Rocky Mountain National Park. This section of trail is not open to pets. The trail circles the west side of a small peak, gaining the east ridge of Saint Vrain Mountain. White boundary markers can be seen to the top of Saint Vrain Mountain. Alongside these boundary markers is a user-created trail to the summit.

At 3.9 miles, it intersects the unsigned Rock Creek Trail near the Saint Vrain Mountain Trail's highest point. In this area, cairns mark the junction and Rock Creek Trail. The trail continues down the south side of Saint Vrain Mountain to the Buchanan Pass Trail.
