Description

The South Plateau Loop starts and ends from the Hikers Parking lot off Of Nolen Avenue inside of Monte Sano State Park.

The trail is very flat except for a 0.25-mile section that loops west of Bankhead Parkway, but even that section is not very difficult.

If you run the trail counter-clockwise from the Hikers Lot, you intersect with the following trails at these mile markers:

Fire Tower Trail: .16 & 1.15
Bog Trail: 1.0
Warpath Ridge: 1.8
Mountain Mist: 1.8 & 2.9
Bucca Family Trail: 3.3
