A trail that keeps you off the road in City Creek.

Tom Wolfe

Overview

Features: Fall Colors — River/Creek — Wildflowers

Runner Notes

Trail can be snow covered and icy from November-March.

Description

This trail is a split off of the BST, but keeps you off of the road going up City Creek. There is a marker for heading up the BST which is where this trail begins. The trail heads east for the most part but can be windy in spots.

You can see the road in numerous places along the way. There is tree cover for most of the trail, but there are a few exposed sections.

Dry - Most of the Freedom Trail is fine but near the end before the turn right to Bonneville Road it becomes very steep and looks washed out. I turned back and crossed the stream to use the paved area which takes you to the Shoreline trailhead. But the rest is well maintained and memory park is nice to rest for those starting running like myself.
