Like most trails in the area there are plenty of rocky areas most of which are at the beginning but starts to clear our when you get closer to the end. Of course there plenty of roots along the route that like to pop up and snag toes. Trust me I have the bruises to prove it.

Description

This trail starts in a South Huntsville neighborhood near Grissom High School off of Sugar Tree Place. There is not a parking area except for street parking at the start

The trail itself an aggressive climb up to the Smoke Rise Trail about 2/5 of a mile in. From there it is a pretty even climb to the Bill and Marion Certain Trail where it ends. Sugar Tree Trail also intersects with the Varnedoe Trail just after a mile.
