The Bacon Ranch Road is the trail for this hike. It's an old road that was used by the Bacons on their farm.
There are several interpretive signs along the first part of the trail that provide info on the families that lived in this area.
Approaching the Butterfield Ranch
Valley Oaks grow in the bottom lands of Pinnacles National Park. There are lots of mature trees, but not a lot of younger trees, which the park service is trying to fix by planting younger trees and protecting them.
Approaching the end of the trail along Highway 25.
Looking back into the park from the boundary, you can see North Chalone Peak in the distance.
The creek in the winter. There isn't a lot of water, but it provides a lot of nourishment for the surrounding vegetation. There is a nice bridge to help cross the water.
