Tree with a large unusual knot along Jones Gap Trail.
Before Rainbow Falls is reached, you'll come across these falls about halfway up the trail and makes a nice rest stop to watch and listen.
First part of trail challenging heading east. Second part on ridge becomes easier and wider but because of the first part taking a little long than planned, I finished the trail as it was getting dark.
Part of Pinnacle Pass Trail will turn back into an old road it looks like where it is easier walking again. This shows trail connecting with John Sloan Trail which may be 1 of 2 easier ways to use getting back to Jones Gap then rest of Pinnacle Pass.
Rainbow Falls Trail is steep in sections with stairs cut into the rocks but a nice trail and will go right below a granite face with another small stream as you get closer to the falls.
