Description
The Natural Bridge is a National Historic Landmark located in Virginia's Natural Bridge State Park. The land was surveyed by George Washington around 1750 and the land was purchased by Thomas Jefferson in 1774. The arch is 215 feet high and made of limestone that is about 500 million years old. The Natural Bridge is a must see sight in Virginia!
Short Run: Hikers access Natural Bridge via the Cedar Creek Trail and the trail offers other geologic features such as the Salt Peter Cave, the Lost River, and Lace Falls. Park visitors park near the Visitor Center where daily passes are available for purchase.
