Heublein Tower [Suggest Edits]
Description
At the top of Talcott Mountain stands the 165-foot-tall Heublein Tower. Built in 1914, this tower is the focal point of Talcott Moutain State Park and is only accessible by foot. The tower features interpretive exhibits as well as sweeping views and is open for tours seasonally.
In addition to the tower, this area of the park features a pavilion and multiple other scenic picnicking spots. Heublein Tower, as well as the rest of Talcott Mountain State Park, are very much worth a visit.
Short Run: The tower can be accessed by way of the Metacomet Trail, the Yellow Trail, or by an unblazed footpath. All of these trails are between a mile and a mile and a half and gain a little over 350-feet.
