Margerie Glacier flows into Glacier Bay, close to the end of Glacier Bay, on the west side of Glacier Bay. Margerie Glacier begins high on Mt. Root. Snows from Mt. Fairweather and other neighboring mountains also contribute to Margerie Glacier. It is about 21 miles long.
No roads or trails go to Marjerie Glacier. It is accessed by boat.
All-Day Run: Margerie Glacier is actually accessed by boat. Glacier Bay boat tours are all day tours that depart from the docks in front of Glacier Bay Lodge. Extremely knowledgeable tour guides narrate the boat tours. For more information, click here.
