Description

An area straight out of prehistoric times. This large canyon is completely covered with Ferns and it follows a small stream that empties into the Pacific Ocean. Small sections of boardwalk and dirt paths meander through this giant canyon, which is a MUST while in the Redwoods area.

Short Run: Small road through old growth forest leads to parking area. Possible stream crossings in spring/early summer.

Mostly Dry - Fern canyon is wet of course. you cannot traverse the whole thing by hopping stones and finding bridges. Bring some water shoes and just walk across a few streams.
