Description
Aside from the ladders, this is the most famous landmark at Turkey Run. Rocky Hollow is a narrow sandstone canyon with a creek running through it. Runers have to climb rocks, hop over rushing water, and get creative with the ways they traverse this unique gulch. If moving upstream, you'll be rewarded with the Punch Bowl after passing through the most difficult stretch of trail in Indiana.
Half-Day Run: Most people cross the Suspension Bridge and begin Trail #3 once on the other side. You'll first pass Wedge Rock before arriving at Rocky Hollow. It's a fairly short but strenuous walk from the Nature Center.
Trail #3 passes Wedge Rock, Rocky Hollow, The Punch Bowl, the Ladders, Bear Hollow, the Ice Box, and Crevice Rock before returning to the Suspension Bridge. In my opinion, it is the single most unique, difficult, breathtaking, and greatest trail in Indiana. If I could "Gem" the entire trail, I would. Trail #3 in Turkey Run State Park is a must see for anyone in Western Indiana.

Some Mud, Fallen Trees - Bad storms last night left some downed limbs and a lot of mud. Rangers had already removed a couple limbs near the inn, and everything else was passable if not a bit muddy.
