Description

Great Divide Trail - Section A (Canada/USA Border to Coleman) Alternate Route.

This Alternate Route can be used to bypass La Coulette Ridge if weather is inclement, making the ridge hiking risky, or for any other reasons to skip La Coulette ridge, a challenging stretch of the GDT. This alternate descends from the GDT to follow Font Creek and then Castle River downstream, to roads that rejoin the GDT north of Castle Mountain Resort.
