Description
Park near the Snow Cone and Spatter Cones. After checking them out keep moving around the south side of the Big Craters. Soon the trail will turn and climb up to the lip of the first crater. Check out the views as you run the rim headed north. In spring, there is often a tiny lake at the bottom of the craters.
Next you'll drop down and cross several lava flows on your way to North Crater with views of Silent Cone to the West. The North Crater is 6244ft (taller than the Inferno Cone by 63 feet). As you work your way around the slopes of North Crater you'll have views of the campground and the North Crater Flow.
