Description

This trail begins at the bottom at Trout Creek road (#538) and enters Swanty Canyon. There are beaver ponds and a small stream near the trail's junction with the Trout Creek road. Early in the season, there is water throughout the canyon, but by August most of the creek disappears.

The trail passes through sagebrush at first, then aspen groves and scrub, and then in the upper elevations it passes through a pine forest, which offers some welcome shade on a hot day. The trail ends when it joins up with the Little Piney Road (#671).
