Need to Know

This trail provides access to the beaches, marinas, picnic areas, and restrooms of Chatfield State Park. If you are driving to the park to start, there are vehicle access fees.

Note that the High Line Canal Trail route around the Plum Creek break shown on MTB Project crosses posted private land and has a road segment, and is not recommended.

The new path is now shown on Google aerial photos, but is not yet traced there as a bike route. The old path is still traced, but the new path is clearly visible in the photos.

Description

This newly completed paved trail connects the C-470 Trail through Chatfield State Park around the southern end of the reservoir to the Highline Canal Trail, providing a crossing of Plum Creek, which breaks the Highline Canal Trail near Titan Road and CO85 in the SE corner of the park.

It also provides access to the beaches, marinas, picnic areas, and restrooms of Chatfield State Park, as well as numerous scenic views of the lake and mountains.
