Description

This is a small section of the historical long distance trail, part of the La Bahia Road branch, and is currently the longest section of the National Historic Trail that is developed for hiking, running, and biking. It is a wide trail composed of a combination of hard packed grass and gravel with very little elevation change.

From the southern end, you'll travel behind residences and businesses within Floresville, and then slowly transition to a rural/wooded section that includes two short bridges that span creeks feeding the San Antonio River. Round trip is about five miles with the northernmost end extending into the golf course (the trail comes into the golf course at the far end of the driving range and runs along the side of the driving range to the clubhouse).
