Runner Notes

Lots of loose rocks and vegetation crossing over the trail, making it hard to see where you are stepping.

Description

The trail starts off very established for about the first mile then puts you into a more vegetated area for the rest of the run. Almost the entire trail excluding the last 0.75 miles follows a river and includes three sections where crossing water is necessary. I was able to cross using rocks to stand on. (Depending on the time of the year, water levels could be different.)

The trail is constantly steep with some sections reaching a 40% grade. There is a meadow about 0.5 miles from the top where the best views of the valley can be seen. The end of the trail has a small clearing in trees and connects with Desolation Trail #19.
